March

The word March derives from Mars, the Roman god of war and growth. Mars summons “Primavera”, the goddess of spring, to dance: March was the beginning of the year for the Romans.
In Germanic culture this month was called Lenzing (Lenz = spring), in west- Germanic “lana-tin”: longer days.
