Winter – Unique piece

In the deepest winter night, we encounter Father Frost and the Madonna with the child.
Father Frost (Dedushka Moroz) is accompanied by his granddaughter Snow- flake (Snegurochka) and a boy called New Year. He carries a sceptre, the curled tip of which makes everything freeze to ice. His sleigh is drawn by three white reindeers, the Troika. In a sack he brings gifts for the children. The Madonna keeps and consoles the world, even in the darkest of times.
