We all know that moment when things cannot get any darker or worse, when we have passed through the depths of the valley and the path goes uphill once again.
This turning point, when we notice, for example, that an illness has passed and no longer holds us in its sway, is something we sense very clearly.
Hope begins to blossom, and a quiet joy dispels our inner gloom.
December

This is how it is in nature at the time of the winter solstice.
The darkness that enveloped us must give way.
There is a force behind it. It cannot exist, for the light is stronger.
The ancient Romans celebrated the winter solstice as the festival the sun.
‘Sol invictus’ they called it, which translates as the ‘unconquered’ or ‘unconquerable’ sun.
The Christians later adopted this festival, but instead of the sun, they celebrated Jesus Christ as the light of the world.
At all events, in the second half of December, we pass a low point and it’s uphill again – with joyful momentum and fresh ideas!
