Whilst contemplating the summer month of August, the expression ‘month of absolute abundance’ came to mind.
But what does ‘absolute abundance’ actually mean?
In the image, we see a king and a queen blessed with the wealth of nature that one can especially enjoy in this month.
At the same time, they receive spiritual nourishment, gifts from ‘heavenly fields’.

I imagined the abundance of being bursting forth upon the royal pair.
This absolute abundance involves experiencing things not only in their appearance as perceived by the senses but in recognising them in their true being, their original essence and their harmony with everything else.
This is what the ancient Indians called rasa.
The Sanskrit term rasa means the sap, the essence of a thing, its pure, true taste and the the resulting delight.
This is the absolute abundance of being!

Any type of asceticism, any limiting of experience (without need!) can in my view only be temporarily useful, e.g. to get one’s ego under control.
Otherwise, the true art is to live in a conscious state of abundance but not to lose oneself in it.
So, now it’s time for strawberries and cream!
